@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Neupro? Yes. I have used it for a couple of years now. It Was liberating. I had my first appt with the doctor who has been such a wonder about two weeks before we were to leave for a wonderful cruise of Spain to Italy and many places in between. I was very concerned about the flight over the Atlantic. My legs had become a nightmare. Every 30-45 minutes I would feel as if I had something wild in there that wanted to get out. So the first time we met, I told him precisely that. He gave me a grin and said he was sure he could help with that. He brought me several containers of thev Neupro patches in the 1 mg and 2mg sizes. I tried the 1 mg patch as soon as we got into our car. Within 20 minutes I felt my body relax. It seemed to be a miracle. In fact, for me--it was!! The cruise was awesome. The flight went better than I could have hoped.

The only problem that I have ever had with the patch was when we upped the dose to 4 mg. A month or so later I noticed that the patch would occasionally bother me, and I wondered. ?? But it was not bad. I had simply never felt it before. As time passed, I realized that the skin where it was placed each day would be a bit reddened. At my next appt. with my MDS, I told him this. He'd never had anyone complain about that particular issue before, but we decided to drop the patch back to the 2 mg size. Have had no problem at all since then.

It is treatment for Restless Leg Syndrome and for PD. Apparently the legs thing is similar in both. I had been so miserable before the Neupro patch that I credit them with enabling me to go out in public and sit without the twitching and fidgeting and desperate need to stand and wiggle and try to shake whatever was making me so uncomfortable.

I used the patch for about 8 months, they caused me to have severe hot flashes constantly, and it was hard keeping the patches attached to my skin. It did help my symptoms though....

I was on a trail for two weeks in Sept 2015 but my insurance would not paid. So I am gonna try again in 2016 for Neopro Patch. I love it during the trail time so if they every give u a patch please check to see if your insurance will pay. Felt so wonderful not have to used a one a day patch. I was on a 2mg one jump to 4mg so if your dad was on the stronger one maybe back to 2mg maybe have him ask if need to
