they are the best.
I started an LSVT Big program with my local hospital's PT and OT team a week ago. I have to say that I am feeling an improvement in my coordination using this form of exercise. It is not difficult and can be tailored to your ability. It's focus in moving with intention, concentrating on big movements which re-trains the brain. Give it a try👍.
: )
Go for it I believe it should be recommended immediately after diagnosis to all PD peeps.
I have just finished the 4 week bootcamp and found it really worthwhile.
It focused me on areas i was not aware were slipping and helped me to work with these to try to regain some of the loss.
The best part is the active engagement in doing something for myself to slow down /Prevent(maybe) further deterioration.
For me being proactive is so important and empowering rather than being in a situation where one is sent away with no tools to just wait while your body slowly loses it's way.
I participated and almost completed a BIG course.. I thought it was awesome! It helped to think and act outside the little world of PD! Unfortunately, my Orthopedic Doctor advised me to stop because of worsening osteo conditions in my right hip. I still think I learned a lot!
