The most dibilitating symptom of my Parkinson's is the tremor in my right leg.
It can be uncontrollable at times. I have only had a few hours of rest in the past three days.
When it's at its peak it takes over my whole body & cause so much pain in my foot & muscles.
I do meditate to help me to sleep but when it's bad I can't concerntrate.
Is there anyone who has any advice to offer. I really need to get some rest I'm like a shaking zombie.....
Yes, my tremors are completely gone!
As to your 2nd question, i would have DBS again! Only you can make that decision because it is brain surgery and results vary from person to person. I recommend you talk to your neurologist, family, etc. I had 5 months to think it over. I did a lot of soul searching during that time. I haven't once regretted having it. Have a great week! Write me anytime if you have more questions.
Deep Brain Surgery. Can be very helpful, if it works out for you. There are many success stories, however one hears very little of borderline success or surgery which went wrong. Very expensive procedure, however when medication has run its course it is an avenue to consider.
Liz, I had DBS on May 6, 2013 which was the electrodes placed in my brain and 2 weeks later, stimulator was placed in my chest.
Before I gad DBS, my sister bought a body pillow for me. it's just a much larger version of a bed pillow. I would put between my legs and that helped. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Maybe Requip might help.
Have you considered DBS? I experienced the same problems with my legs before I had DBS. No problems since then.
