does anyone have this problem of being extremely tired in the afternoon to the point that they cannot seem to move? I have not had DBS surgery as yet and have had PD for 12 years, I am 62 years old. Would like to know what you all do for this tired feeling? Does it get better, or does it get worse and does the DBS surgery help it
@Tired, Usually, if I want to get anything done, I make sure I do it in the morning. The afternoon is a quiet time for me, and please don't bother me from about 1:00 - 4:00 pm. I get a spurt of energy in the evenings and can finish up what I didn't finish that morning. If I could lose some weight and exercise more, I might could find more energy.
@ tired my husband's therapist has him on a schedule where if he falls asleep in his chair he has to go to bed. No tv radio no sound what so ever. He gets a twenty minute nap and has to get up. It is strange as he is ok after that short time. Then we went to a support group that Dr said twenty no more then thirty minutes.then up. I don't know why it works but it does. We are also working on his night sleeping as he gets up every morninG at two am.
No, I did not mean that I dont want to complain to you guys, I mean my family members. You all will hear plenty of complaints coming from my direction. That is why I joined this group. So you all can listen to me since you can all relate to what is going on.
I also was dead tired at 3pm.My neurologist adjusted my medication by adding 1 and a half carbilevs, therefore taking 4 X 1 and a half carbilevs during the day at 4 hour intervals, taking t x Requip at 20h00 when going to bed. Remember to have at least 7 hours good sleep and try to stay away from sleeping pills, it makes you fuzzy. 😊
thank you Dr. Sharpe, I will check that out.
