Parkinson's Lumbar Support Pillow And Bed Pillow
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My father is experiencing spinal curvature. Has anyone found a 2-part support pillow (seat + back) that helps correct this? He faces the same issue while lying down. Any recommendations for sleeping pillows?

Several years ago my husband gave me a pillow full of nonalergenic husks of some kind. I suspect this is the t.v. pillow constantly promoted on T.V. So it would seem. I sleep with a lot of pillows. Sometime I put one between my legs but my gift pillow is my main stay. You just shape it until you rest your head just right and your spine is unencumbered. I am high strung. I presume the readers of my posts have figured this one out. I do not slip into blissful sleep. I toss and turn and the a.m. am amazed to see what my sheets look like. I do have another hint. Soon after my diagnosis I got a black rescue cat. In the night you see his eyes but nothing else. He runs around the apartment and if I'm having a bad night, he seems to sense it. I know the key to restful sleep is to STOP your mind from churning. Too bad. All my life, even in childhood I get my best ideas in bed. Ikeep a notepad near by. Often its just garbage. Sometimes breakthroughs are on the pad. Make lists. Then cross through them. We are alive goddamit. Once last hint head to the kitchen and drink a glass of lightly salted buttermilk. Nixon did this and he slept like a baby while rocking the restof the world during daytime. Have a great labor day weekend. Enjoy a hurricane if one comes your way. It may be the universe saying hello smartie pants!
