Has Anyone Taken Fludrocortisone 0.1 Mg Tablet Once Daily For Low Blood Pressure And Had Bad Side Effects? Do You Recommend I Start The Rx?
Hi Steven, I had 15 falls in 10 day and only suffered some bumps and bruises due to orthostatic hypotension but then the broken hip happened and my doc started treating the lightedness with midodrine. That stopped the falling and now after 3 yrs, I no longer have low blood pressure and have been taken off of midodrine with no negative outcome. I don't know why but I'm guessing my body has acclimated to the carbo-dopo and I've gotten better about managing my fluid intake. I've gone 6 mo without midodrine and my BP remains in the normal range and lightedness and falls have stopped, Yeah!!!
I have been fludriocortisone 0-1 mg once a day for about two months. I guess its doing what its spposed to do raise my BP. I used to get light headed when getting out of bed or getting up from my recliner. So far no side effects .
For BP I take 4, 0.5mg Fludrocortisone in the morning (15yrs), Midodrine 5mg 3/day, Droxidopa 300mg 3/day. I've also have orthrothistratic hypotension (20yrs). Dr believes I've had PD for 15 to 20yrs, been falling that long. Official diagnosis was April 25, 2022. Hope info helps.
Like many of you, I took Midodrine and Fluord. for 4 yrs without side effects but surprisingly, my blood pressure began being too high so my doc took me off both meds and I no longer have low BP and the challenges associated with that. My BP stays in the 120/80 range all day, every day without meds or effects of low BP. I never thought Ortho hypo could just go away but here we go. PD is so unpredictable and keeps me on my tows.

Have found that salt tablets work much better in keeping blood pressure balanced.
Will Droxidopa Help With My Daily Lightheadedness? I Have Drug Induced Parkinsonism.
