Anyone Taking Azilect And What Have Been The Benefits And/ Or Side Effects? Do The Benefits Outweigh The Side Effects?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband was prescribed Azilect, and it made him nauseated and gave him headaches. We took him off of it, and now he is more tired. It would be helpful to understand what medications have proven helpful and which have not. And also whether or not the side effects outweighed the benefits.

I have been on Azilect for nearly three years. The big factor is the cost. Even with insurance (BEFORE I reach deductible) it's $400 or so a month. Good news is generics coming in 2017. In regard to the benefits it does help with overall good feeling during the first part of the day as I take it around 6 AM. I have never experienced the headaches that some do. I like the benefits that some studies show slowing down the disease. If there is any chance of that I'd like to take advantage of it. However, my symptoms are progressing even with the disease. On the whole, I am glad I took / am taking it.

You can get RASAGELINE which is generic for Azilect for $149 for 100 tablets at Planetdrugsdirect.com. Tell them Mary Best sent you. You need 3-4 weeks lead time before you receive the first package of meds.

My husband takes it. He hasn't had any side effects, but it doesn't improve his symptoms either. He takes it on the hope it will help delay the disease.

I tried Azilect for a few months, but the side effects were too much for me. Back to the Stalevo.
