I was wondering why some scans pic up PD but others don't!

Hey there
I didn't have a scan to pick up Parkinson's but I know a very good friend of mine did @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member
I think it's purely down to neurologists. Mine knew just looking at me that I had Parkinson's

Only a DAT SCAN can pick up PD a MRI or CT scan can only rule out other possible conditions

For us, the scan or MRI was to rule out other possible causes of the physical symptoms the neurologist observed; Other causes such as strokes or brain tumor.

This is a great reminder that the vast % of treatment is not based on science with the majority being subject too personal detection. My cardiologist noted my behavior ( standing) and ordered a neurologic work up.
