If You Have Parkinson's, Are You A Spouse Of A Vietnam Veteran?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

I may have asked this before, but I would like to see what a response I get. I am a spouse of a Vietnam vet, and I have PD. I would like to see the connection that agent orange may have had on the spouses of our Vietnam veterans

Thank you!

She hasn't yet. I am looking for info to try and help her. I got my husband service connected for his PD due to TCE (a cleaning solvent). I was hoping I could find other people with this experience. Maybe I should just apply and see how far she gets

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member It's my understanding the children would be covered under VA, but if they don't know that, they won't know to apply for benefits. Has this girl try to file a claim with VA? I started to file a claim for myself, just to see how far it would get.

Those of you talking about the chemical at LeJune, the chemical is TCE or Trychlorethelne. You only needed to be on base a total of 30 days total and not all together. It is now an auto service connect for anyone on that baser 30 days or more between I think 1957 and 1984. I know I am close on the dates but not sure if those are the exact dates. This chemical was also used by anyone who cleaned electrical or mechanical parts. My husband did 20 years. He was an electricians mate. He not only used this chemical he was told to wash his hands in it ect. to get grease off his body. We finally got the VA to service connect him at 100% 2 years ago. Anyone who used this chemical and has PD should be applying for VA benefits.
