I went to see a new neurologist who recommended Azelect and said most of her patients improve on this drug. I am on Medicare and the cost per month over $800. Has anyone tried this drug and had success with it? Do you know if the drug company has a discount program? My old neurologist told me that this drug has not been scientifically proven to be neuro-protective Any info or experience would be helpful.
I was on the ailect assistance program, but it stops the end of the year because the generic is due to come out in 2017
Sorry, wasn't finished typing. I believe you can go to the Azilect website and get the card and more information.
I use a generic form of Azilect. Rasagiline is much cheaper, selling for about $67 USD for a 90 day supply. It is available from Canadian pharmacies and is shipped directly to you from a DFA approved producer in England.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I have looked online and spoken to a few folks in the medical community. There is no valid info. about a generic version as yet.
I was told Azilect is going to be available in generic in January 2017.
