Members rallied around the question of managing fatigue, anxiety, and poor sleep in Parkinson's, with many sharing that these symptoms are common and often worsen as the disease progresses. Several members recommended low-dose benzodiazepines like clonazepam and Ativan, SSRIs like Lexapro and Paxil, Buspar for non-addictive anxiety relief, CBD oil for relaxation and pain, melatonin for sleep, and adjusting medication dosages with their neurologist to address off periods. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, prioritizing exercise even on low-energy days, scheduling rest periods without guilt, and being transparent with both neurologists and mental health providers to find the right combination of support.

I don’t care if I’m addicted. Anything that will help me feel better, physically and emotionally, I’m all in! This disease is horrible. I simply try hard to get thru the day and night. My family doesn’t get it. How could they?? I think that’s the hardest part. No empathy from family. Just extremely frustrating when they don’t believe you when you try to explain what you’re going through

Have you asked your doctor for Buspar? My husband has it prescribed 3 times daily for anxiety but takes it as needed which is more like once a day most days. It has little to no side effects.

I am back, I guess I have just been trying to figure somethings out. My youngest sister also has PD and is now in a wheelchair, she falls all the time and now has lewy body dementia it has been harder for me to see her like this then myself. I am not in a wheelchair but this makes 5 others in my family with PD. I am 71 and three of the others are younger then me.it has taken them down faster then me. I have alot of daytime fatigue sleepless nights anxiety I have also have osteoporosis and hve alot of bone loss which with PD is not good, but with all of this I thank God every day that he gives me and give him the praise in all things for God is good all the time. I hope all of you had a beautiful CHRISTmas and a blessed New Year. My full name is Sharron
