I have dry itching skin.I remember reading that it was related to PD.I stay well hydrated.I have to find ways to attenuate my dry skin
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. It is very important to keep your skin hydrated. But take a look at it and see if it's caused from PD or just aging or both maybe. It is important to use products such as petroleum jelly to seal in the hydration especially at night when you sleep. Every night before I go to bed I slather myself with thick, rich oils such as castor oil, coconut oil, and Vaseline petroleum jelly mixed together and applied to my feet and my hands and my shoulders, chest, my neck, (feet and hands especially). I also massage my scalp at least once a week very heavily with organic Castro oil . Keeping the scalp hydrated is very important. In addition to all these oil's and massages, drink lots of distilled water to stay hydrated inside your body. Lots of hard work and getting old is a bitch…fighting all those wrinkles.🤣🙄. Thank you for the question. Sterling
My skin has been dry in places, then quite oily. My skin is changing as I
age😞
My husband has same problem of dry skin and itching due to PD. my naturalist told me to go to sprouts store and get avocado oil. It really works.
Dehydration is due to medications & involuntary movements. Omega 3 and Vit D supplements are good sources too.
I have read that you get oily skin from it as well. It's just how the body is regulating itself at any given time dopamine helps all of that. My skin has cleared up though with PD but I think it's because I have been less attentive to it. (Washing my face now is like running up a mountain!) It sounds like a oxymoron statement but if you don't strip your skin of it's natural protection then it clears up because you no longer are letting pathogens in. Anyway, oily or dry gently wash and hydrate no matter what.
