No none to date and I've been on this medication for 11 years. You should mention to your neurologist at next visit or ask your family doctor to refer you to skin specialist. We can develop allergies to many other things as we age. Hope this helps
My motion disorder specialist tells me not to blame new medical problems on Parkinsons but to get them checked out by my family doctor so seeing a skin specialist sounds like a good idea.
We have been having a rash on my wife's back ever since we have been on the meds, even before sinemet. Originally we used Azilect and Mirapex and a rash is part of side effects. It itches like crazy and comes and goes. We use a farmers remedy to help keep the back lubricated and to relieve some of the itch. We use medicated Bag Balm which is not greasy when rubbed in well. Occasionally it has spread all over her back, groin, under her breasts and around her throat. that was only once but it was awful. As it healed it looked like her skin was scaling. She has been to a dermatologist several times already but they don't know either.
Other than yellow urine, no problem.
@ GayleHughes Yes, David at 70, suddenly developed a skin problem that started with sores that wouldn't heal on his legs, then arms, then a eczema/psoriasis type rash on his back. He went to the dermatologist who could not determine what it was for sure. She took many biopsies and tried several medications. After numerous visits she said it was a combination of eczema/psoriasis. We have used a good moisturizer and the different Rx she prescribed, but have only seen minor improvements. Recently we tried toothpaste and that appears to work as well or better than the Rx.
