Hi Liz
Liz you will definitely have to take your husband back to his doctor .What he us doing does not seem right he can't be doing that all the time it will cause friction between the both of you so if I were you I would make that appointment and soon
Hope you get good results from your Doctor
All the best!!!

Wow, it sounds like you need to talk to his DR about this. Could it be he ignores it because it is hard to change his clothes? Consider getting some spill resistant cups like sports bottles or kids sipping cups with straws. Iirc they open and close fairly easily.
