Is Knee And Ankle Pain And Swelling Due To PD?

My mother has been experiencing swelling and pain in her left knee for over three weeks. She complains about pain and limps and doesn't want walk. Doc prescribed anti-inflammatory medication but no change. Now for over a week she has swelling in her left ankle too. Now Doc prescribed diuretics. What else should we be aware of. Arthritis, Gout, Edema, Bacteria? It is colorless but I don't know if she fell or sprand her leg. I asked Nursing Home to do blood tests again since we do them… read more

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member: How old is your Mom? I would give thought to maybe her knee is "gone"! I've had 2 knees replaced, so I come from that perspective. Maybe would be worth having an orthopaedic specialist see her. When one body part hurts we compensate by using other parts and create stress on them and it gets to be a vicious cycle sometimes. I'd have that knee checked out.

My legs and ankles also swell my neurologist said it was due to PD

I also have that , the ankles and feet that swallows, I will ask my Neurologist, may 13,
It happens when standing for long, it hurts also, I sit rest with legs hier.

I also think it s the PD, BUT people said , it s the medication. Ask your pharmacist . I will do it and even in Internet.. Anna Lanese
