I, too, use it for cooking along with olive oil. My sister suggested it due to Dr. Mary Newport who gave her husband who had Alzheimer's 4 teaspoons a day and felt she saw improvement in his condition. Whether or not the time after she started him on this regimen gave him the health benefits for about 2 years is unknown. However, it is not a cure and affects different people differently. There is no scientific proof that it works and its use should be weighed with other aspects of its use. It has a saturated fat content that exceeds olive oil and butter: it is solid at room temperature. The make up of the fat in coconut oil is different from other types of saturated fat, so perhaps the body handles it differently. But like marijuana, research needs to be done.
Trevor, I just took a table spoon full of the stuff and put it directly into my mouth. It is similar in texture to lard and I don't enjoy it but it is supposed to be good for your brain. Mate, it is better than taking another medication, I guess. How is your wife doing? Is her ankle still tender? And has your eyesight continued to improve? God bless you.
Hi I cook with it and also can moisturize my skin with it. I believe you can melt it in your mouth and swish it around for as long as you can - it's supposed to repair the enamel on your teeth.

Lifestyle, diet, coconuts, fish, rice and western snack food. Also the US detonated 50 nuclear bombs on Bikini, Enewetok and Kawajalin. That might be a factor.
