My Neurologist has switched me from LevoDopa to Mirapex. He hopes this will solve my sever pain in my neck, shoulders, wrists and legs.
Take care everyone.
Grampa, while I am not a doctor I think you would be wise to made sure your neurologist is a Movement Disorders Specialist (MDS).That is a neurologist who specializes in Parkinson's and other such diseases. An MDS might want to increase you medication if all you take now is Mirapex.
I was diagnosed 7 years ago and my medications are Stelevo (Levodopa) Amantadine, (Carbidopa) and Pramipexole (Mirapex). I still get some tremor in my left leg and an occasional bout of dystonia in my neck, but otherwise I feel pretty good most of the time. I hope you can go into this with your MDS doctor. Please let me know what happens when you have seen the MDS doctor. I would be interested to know the outcome.
Take care and be well,
Julianne

Hubby did could not toletate. Nigjtmares and acting out in sleep.
Went through some compulsions (excessive shopping). All I can say is you know it when you do it. And I haven't done it very often. It also depends on your financial situation and where you shop. I use the internet so the whole world is open to me. But it's not a case of thinking "what can I buy today?" It's suddenly realizing you purchased 4 pairs of slippers (1 of each color). But you're not unconscious when you do it. .I don't know about any other compulsive problems.
