Avoid situations that involve stress.
Plan to have all possible control of your situations. Deep Breathing ,stay busy. I quilt, I sew. Garden, ride bike indoors, walk on stair stepper. I facilitate A Cancer Support Group.
Focus on them . So I shake, love to Dance.
It's all about shaking.. charge PD my battle ground
Boxing (Rock Steady) and other exercise really helps me. Really takes me out of myself.
Hi Serge,
The best ways I've found to deal with my stress have been
- Take a nap. I always fell better after taking a nap. I wake up with a new perspective on the stressful situation.
- Meditate. I'll do either a guided meditation or a breathing meditation. Either one helps.
- Listen to my favorite music. And dancing to it works too :-)
- "Flash cards." I write messages on index cards and carry them around with me. When I'm stressed out or I need a little encouragement I take them out and read them until I start to feel better. What I have on the index cards are mostly "promises" from the Bible but some are also affirmations, positive thoughts or inspirational quotes
- Pray. Then I "Let go & let God."
I hope that something here works for you. Let me know. :-)
Hi Serge
I agree with Erika 100%. I would add to her recommendation BOXING its great and Fitness. The harder the exersise to better you will be. For those of you who read my response and are sick of my advice and realise I am a NZ boy who is nutty about the gym and fitness. I am a nut but a nut who is reversing the symptons of PD and happy.
Accept what youve got it is what it is, no cure so its up to you. Think positive its only PD you aint gunna die so get fit.
Cheers
Wayne
Yoga and exercise often help.
I still have trouble when I'm in line to pay something as i feel i am holding up the line. I often have the casher count my money for me.
