Awaiting F-Dopa scan in the next couple of weeks. 'Tentative' Parkinson's diagnosis made. I am scared. Not sure about the way forward. Scared regarding treating options. Maybe get a second opinion? Based in Pretoria. Which neurologist can anyone recommend?

The tests are more to rule out any other illness or disorder similar to what you are experiencing. Due to age the treatments depend on how severe the condition is. With Parkinson's progression occurs all the time so you may be advised that they will not start you on the sinimet or carbodopa levadopa till you get older. Regular excersise and activities are good. The medicines do help give some relief of the symptoms and help you have some sort of normalities. Important to keep thinking positive cause even with this disease you can still do everything...not the end of the world.
