Income While Waiting For SS Disabillity To Kick In.
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

We live in NJ. My husband has received conformation that he will be receiving SS disability, but has to wait 6 month before the first check will arrive. Does anyone know of any other benefits that he can apply for to help pay the bills these 6 month while he waits ?

If he is a veteran, call the VA or go to the nearest VA and talk to a service officer. If he is a Vietnam veteran, he needs to apply for benefits if he has PARKINSONS.

I have been looking into government grants. which we are entitled to. You also can hire a SSI lawyer. They can assist you in filing for the back pay. because it takes 6 months from the day he is awarded SSI. I wish I would have done this
