I am thinking about applying for disability and have been getting many calls from many organizations wanting to help - but their numbers are not making sense. I think a true lawyer would be better. I am in the Howard County area.
When I applied for SS the lady told us to come back in ? six months, I think . we went back and the process was very simple, they even filled out the forms for me. I had to have a psych appt and a dr appt with their doctors. I received disability a couple of months later.
It took me 4 yrs to get disabillity with no atty, I recommend no atty they take half of your money

I applied for Disability about 2011-2012 in New York State. My one advise is when listing your doctors, be sure to list EVERY doctor you see, from dentists to pediatrists!!! [head to toe!!]
