Has anyone diagnosed with pd been involved in a previous accident where they were injured with whiplash?
My neurologist injects botox in my neck every three months, seems to help range of motion. Does anyone else have a hard time getting into a conversation and just not being able to come up with words. I'm so embarrassed, I don't talk much cause I have to repeat my speech is slurred and tone goes away.
Hi Jenny I have a problem with my neck also I had replaced C1 through C7 and I don't know if that has anything to do with anything but I shake and I walk into things and my jaw shifts a lot and my speech. Jeanette
Every day i deal with neck and shoulder issues esp sleeping
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, thank you for your reply. My dad was diagnosed and lately I noticed symptoms that are plaguing me. I recently have been suffering with a really sore neck and went to a Chiropractor. He asked if I was clumsy and walked into objects. I showed him my bruises from walking into objects. We discussed latent problems caused by whiplash. Not only does one experience soft tissue damage but the nerves are also damaged. He said that 15-20 years on these problems are coming to light. Hense me asking the question. I am trying to see if this could be the cause of an onset of PD (I have not been diagnosed). One of the tasks I was asked to perform was to walk in a straight line with the heel of the front foot touching the toes of the back foot with eyes closed. I was not even able to perform this task with my eyes open, without loosing my balance
It would be interesting to see how many people who have been diagnosed with PD, have previously been injured with a whiplash injury
