My husband has lunch, takes a dose of sinemet then goes to lie down. He routinely wakes up with an upset stomach.

Hi, my husband who has Parkinson's suffers with extreme nausea. He has Omeprazole 2 twice daily and gavison in between. At night he finds it hard to settle down with the sickness feeling. Nothing really seems to help relive his symptoms. He has a recliner because he struggles to get up/down in chairs, in bed etc... Most things are now getting a struggle for him. More to the point I am convinced that my husband is now suffering from anxiety very much like your husband, and to a degree I don't think that it is helping him or his illness. If you find anything that helps please let me know as I am like you getting really down trying to help him and make him comfortable.

Thank you both. Larry can’t take his meds on an empty stomach we’ve tried the 1/2/hour before, he gets debilitating nausea. I was thinking the same thing about a recliner. I think much of this has to do with his anxiety which has gone up quite a bit lately. It’s getting me down trying to manage it.

Does your husband have a recliner? Perhaps the prone position has something to do with his feeling sick. Just a guess.. Our parkie bodies can often betray us over the least little things. Hope he finds an answer.

I routinely take my sinemet at least 1/2 hour before or 1 hour after eating. It helps with the stomach issues

Hi @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Sorry to hear you have such issues with anxiety. Would you consider asking your neurologist for some anxiety meds? Larry takes Lorazepam occasionally and he’s a different person when he does.
