I was a disability claims adjudicator and the best thing you can do is to have all your information that you need together all at once so that they can be totally prepared to make the decision. That includes medical and work history information. Any delays or lack of proof, beit reports or doctor's information, can lead to a denial. Your proof of having the disease and your inability to do your job need good documentation. God bless you as you go through this challenging process.
I applied for disability and was able to be accepted on my first try. I did it all on my own through the SSA website. It was time consuming, not easy, and I am not a lawyer. But I was proud of myself at the end for accomplishing it on my own.
My husband had someone come to the house and do all the necessary paperwork he now receives Attendance Allowance.
I wish you the best of luck Christopher452. I have a sister that had been trying for over 5 years and even had an attorney. I guess I was lucky as well in having all my information together. Doctors notes, work info and four witness statements. Good luck to everyone trying to get this done. Take care, Linda
