Hi Nan... DBS is a game changer both my wife and I have had the surrgery with very positive results. Theres no pain... and a very mild recovery... I was dx when i was 40 i'm now
63. Very slow progression.... keep stress to a minimum and keep moving... walk ride a bike
exercise...just don't give in...
Thanks all of you no videos have been taken since Dbs preformed apart from my profile picture so you can see from that my improvement and weight gain xx
Hello Nann,
Dbs is scary but the results outweigh the fear however if someone wasn't scared of dbs I would be worried. Result is distonia completely under control and no stiff painful joints and no tremor apart from intermittently it's the ultimate control we can throw at our pd and no time to soon for it but once you feel your not getting from your meds what you need and your Drs cannot add to them or adjust your dosage to help you then need to push for it. Bewear though if your memory is impaired badly or you have depression you will not be able to have it done as it can make both problems worst especially if it doesn't work. It is not successful for all so go into it with an open mind xx
Well done
You're welcome xx
