He does nothing all day... just sits in the recliner and watches tv.

CherylStocker , we tried an ACTIVcycle found on amazon. It seems to work well for just keeping muscles moving vs building muscle. Pat seems to walk better if he uses this daily (at least 45 minutes). All electric

Pat also finds excercise difficult. We bought an electric cycle machine just to keep the legs moving. He still watches tv but pedals throughout the day.
We also got him a Fitbit so that he can have a goal for his steps. He’s doing better and he’s quite happy when those steps add up!

He needs peer pressure. Get him to a class for PD workouts - even if you have to drag him.

Exercise should be part of his daily routine to assist him with mobility.
If he can do a Google Alert on his computer with the subject Parkinsons Disease he will find many items about how exercise can help him

Thank you. Its been really hard on both of us. He's doing a little better, starting physical, occupational and speech therapy. Meds around the clock. I'm glad to have him home. Its hard sleeping in the hospital for that long. Cold and noisy. I really had to advocate strongly regarding meds. They said 12 noon and midnite. I was told "on time and everytime for parky meds". And Phil's was every 4 hours. Had a fight with the pharmacist too. Phil is on Rytary and they insisted on a sinement generic. Oh boy. So i gave it to him myself. I really hope this never happens to anyone else. Thank you again for the hug and have a happy holiday.
