Hi I get people who send me a hug in this group and I feel really terrible not being able to work out how to say thank you to each one. Can someone help please. Thank you.
I have often thought of it this way Trevor. Imagine yourself sitting in church waiting for things to get started, and you have recently gone through something very trying. Someone you know, or may not know, comes up behind you and pats you on the shoulder and moves on. Later on, you see this person after the service. You nod, they nod - you smile, they smile, and you know that they know, and nothing needs to be said. :-)

Good question, @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member! On a different group, they have Applause, Support, and Helpful as responses. I would imagine that a hug is similar to expressing support/emotional support, while helpful is more or less the same as applause or helpful.. I don't always respond to hugs or helpful. Sometimes you just don't know how to respond, other times, you do respond with a thanks!.or a hug back. Difficult to know what to do about a virtual hug, after all, they are virtual. I guess one can always give oneself a hug on behalf of those sending the hugs.
I wouldn't feel guilty about not responding to every hug or thumbs up - sometimes nothing more needs to be said, sometimes, it is appropritate to say Thanks - I needed that. I hope that those that send the hugs understand that if they don't' get a response that it doesn't mean that the thought isn't appreciated.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - When I send a hug, I mean I agree or I think what you wrote is great or I empathize with your triumphs or your suffering. Sometimes, I just don't have any more to say, but I want you to feel supported
Everyone can use a hug from time to time!
No need to reply.............Just feel the warmth in the hugs sent to you.
