I attend a session at Cannon Hill Birmingham which specialises in people with movement difficulties not just Parkinsons. I have been attending these sessions for nearly three years now - I rate it very highly.

Yes, it was worth the 90 mile trips to Chicago to see a Movement Disorder Specislist!

@ Ruth Hill - I attend a session for people with movement difficulties one a week in Birmingham, It isn't just for people with P.D. it is just movement disrders.. I find it tremendously beneficial and would recommend it to anyone.

My hubs has both docs. He sees his movement doc every 6 months. His Nuero every 3.

I am so happy I went to the Movement Clinic. I feel finally like someone is doing something for me rather than just prescribing meds. The PA I saw wants to do an MRI on my brain, is going to set me up with PT, and has scheduled an "off'/on" test next month. I talked to a social worker first and will meet with the physician in a few months. They both did tests I'd never had done -the most the neuro docs would do was watch me walk. I liked the two neuro docs I had, but they didn't do anything like this.
