My husband still would like to travel. He can only walk about a block. Is there any trip you have taken that was doable in stage 3? I am 74 and have my own issues with arthritis so can only help him a little
Thanks. Can you recommend any good cruises. I have been on one to Alaska and also Carribean
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member Hill - I think the answer is to find a hotel with adapted rooms for diabled people and hire a Mobility scooter and a wheel chair in that way both of you can enjoy a break. I went to one such hotel in Tenerife last September with my Sister it was a success!
I prefer the smallest ship that I can find. The dristace from your home to the post may be a factor as is the ports of call. My favorites were the Baltic...(Denmark, Estonia, St.Petersberg, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Visby) and the Mediterranean (Roma, Livorno,Portofino, Genoa, Monte Carlo, Cannes, Barcelona) these require long flights that would be more difficult to do today.
I have found that cruises are great, if you like that means of travel. Elevators everywhere, entertainment, meals can be delivered to room if necessary. Not my #1 way to see the world but it works.
Many hotels have "accessible" rooms, but sometimes they don't get it quite right - example: grab bar in tub at the far end from the shower head.
