Jewel... I also have a dry throat. I like to keep ice water handy both day and night. I also like decaf iced tea. This affects my speech and makes my voice sound raspy.. I never had a nice singing voice to begin with, but now I can't sing at all.I still try. One more thing I keep handy is sugar free candy to suck on.

I wake up several times each night with a dry mouth and throat, necessitating drinking water, resulting in a visit to the toilet. During the day I only have a dry throat if I talk too much. I tend to drool when I sing in church.
