Or an enema. I have to use this about 2-3 times a week to get any relief. It is like my digestive system has shut down. I have tried the more bulk, more water, laxative pills, diet change...tried it all. I can tell when I am "stuffed" and have started losing weight. I have even started riding my excercise bike more. All with no results. My pc put me on a rx that i cant take because the timing interferes with my pd meds. Am I running the risk of colon or some other cancer? Has anyone… read more

I have/had the same problem. I would feel like Imwasmgoimg to have a stroke I would have to push so hard. I tried many prescrition and non-prescription laxatives/stool softeners. Those worked too well and often caused embarrassing accidents. I have found believe it or not eating raw sunflower seeds does the trick. It is soooo much better. Works like clockwork most mornings! Who would have thought!

I also have problems with constipation. My muscles just don't move the waste down like they used to. I take a Magnesium supplement with Vitamin D3 and Calcium every morning. It keeps me pretty regular. I buy it at my local grocery store. It has really made a difference. Drink plenty of water. If you become dehydrated you can become constipated too. AnnBadenhorst is right. See a dietician to help you find a healthy diet also. Good luck.

You should see a dietician to work out an effective diet for you. It really works wonders if you stick to your proper diet

One of our kindest, most sharing members, JeriAltstadter, recommends: "Something that works for me about 85% of the time is I eat the same breakfast the same way most every day. It actually is my favorite meal of the day.
"Dry cereal with blueberries, almond milk and coffee/ coffeemate. Along with miralax in the bowl, I have 4 prunes. But not those hard dessicated things that come out of the box. Instead I put the 4 prunes in a dish with a little water and nuke them for a minute and a half. They become fluffy pillows that float down with the other stuff by just wrapping around them like a gentle cushion.
"The other 15% of the time, we all have those unmentionables that we have to do, so enough said."

Hello! I have been constipated almost my entire life! Even as a baby my mother would have to reach into me and relieve the hard stools! Now I start the day with MIRALAX and 1 SENOCOT -S ! THEN I TAKE 1 SENOCOT -S AT NOON AND AT NIGHT! I have a bowel movement only about once a week and I never know when it will happen but it usually is soft-
Boy I wish I could loose some weight! I am about 20 pounds over=weight and nothing seems to budge!
