Is sinemet helping your tremors? Are the tremors gone or just reduced?. I am taking sinemet for over a month, I can see a difference 60 procent tremor in my hand is reduced. Can I expect more? Or change the medication?
the only thing i know is high protein food shouldn't be taken same time with sinemet because its gonna block it
When I started taking sinemet it took about 2 weeks and my tremor almost stopped completely but this medicines and this disease are very tricky and they effect and react differently in each person but I think 60% is a good improvement.
Do you think what you eat may have an effect on your tremors?
I have had PD for over 10 years now. I started out on a low dose of Sinemet and was constantly having to up the dosage. I was also taking amantadine and another medicine that I can't recall the name right now . Then my body began to resist the sentiment and other meds that I was taking at that time . 4 years ago I began having dyskinesia in my neck and my head a twisting that's uncontrollable caused by the sinemet that I needed so badly to control the tremor. I have a great neurologist / movement specialist. To make an already long story short with the help from my neurologist and his team we decided that I was a candidate for DBS. It was performed in 2016 I was able to reduce my medication by half and completely stopped some of the other medicines that I was taking. I have very little dyskinesia at all. I still have to take sinemet but not as much. It made a huge difference in my life. Blessings to everyone with this mean old disease. Symptoms are different for everyone.
