Hi all, for the past few months my hips have been sore and my lower back, I just thought I must have twisted or something but it has been getting worse. The left hip and lower back are always very sore even when sitting or lying down. This morning I went to have a shower and caught my clothes with my left foot, my left hip gave way and down I went on one knee. Omg the pain in my hip was excruciating, I screamed out but Char was up the other end of the house, so I got my self up and had a shower… read more

i believe MY joint and muscle pain is due to the PD as well as the meds for the PD. My hips, lower back, neck/shoulders, and knees and feet all would get so stiff and it was very painful to sleep laying down in my bed, and when i first get up after sleeping or sitting for a couple hours, it really hurts to get up and get moving. my neurologist put me on an anti-inflammatory over a year ago and i guess it has helped some. also my muscles in my legs have to be stretched out before i can take any steps...

I find walking, core strengthening and stretching helps with the lower and upper back pain. My therapist has created exercises I can do at home and incorporate those from the Big and Loud program.

I was told about a man, Pete Egoscue, who is a postural alignment expert in San Diego California. He has work with Jack Nicklaus and President Gerald Ford and several professional sports teams. His exercises have helped me with my low back and knee pain which are the consequence of "old age" and living in a "broken world". It has helped my neck pain which I blame on PD. His exercises are demonstrated on You Tube. They are easy to do as they are mostly static stretches down on the floor. God bless you all.

I take Gaberpentin for my leg and hip pain, I take 3 per day and they seem to help. I have had this problem all my life. The doctor always called it growing pains. Well i'm 70 and not growing u p anymore, just out. Talk to your doctor and see if this may work for you.
