Medication Change
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is anyone on senimet not sure of spelling. If so what side affects do you have. If you had some when you 1st started them? And if they subsided after being on them a while.? Thank you

I don’t even know how to respond to this . If I did not have meds that doctors have perscribed for me I would have no quality of life. With my medication I am able to work as a teacher, play the piano, sew, write. books and most importantly play with my four beautiful grandchildren. My brain needs carbodopa/levodopa because for some reason the cells that produce dopamine arre being choked out and cannot rejuvenate themselves. So, I need synthetic dopamine to allow me to live my life.
Thank you to doctors, Scientists., and researchers for making this possible.

Leon has been taking Sinemet three times a day for the last year. He was allergic to Artane, a helper drug. He has constipation that he has to cope with daily. He uses Miralax every day. I wish he would use Shaklee Herblax. It’s healthier.-Sherwon

I am on carbidopa/levodopa which is the same thing. When I started 3yrs ago I was so sick from it, I could not keep anything down. I lost 70 pounds the first year because it did not agree with my stomach. Now I have finally adjusted to it fine. I just had DBS surgery and trying to lower my dose. The Doctor wants me to be off by Sept but having trouble with taking less everyday. I am taking it every three hours. 15 pills a day right now. I see a doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota right now. Take care
