PD is often accompaned by depression. Though my husband denies he is depressed, his behavior indicates that to me. He takes a 75mg dose of Effexor and the Dr. has suggested he gradually increase to 225mg.

My husband has depression and PTSD. Not sure if that is what causes his apathy or the Parkinsons

I take 225 mg. of Effexor once a day. I started on a much lower dose. Is he getting sunlight?
He should try going for a walk. Is there any music that he likes? Try to keep it on for him. Good luck dear.

I have bi-polar as well. Epival can contribute to tremors and I'm being weaned off of it. It is more useful to prevent mania and I'm more prone to depression. Marilyn, it can be very difficult to get the right meds for depression. If your hubby can exercise, sleep well, go for talk therapy, get fresh air they can help more than meds.
