Mt husband, age 86, has had Parkinson's for over 10 years. He has been taking carbo/levo for the past 6 years. He has lost his taste of food, stating that "nothing tastes good". This has been in the past few weeks.

I lost my sense of smell about 15 years ago,but thought it was due to a serious blow I got on my nose years before. Maybe it was an early sign of PD,I was diagnosed in 2015, but had had it for about 3 years.I was prescribed Amantadine Nov.2015.side effects very dry mouth, lost sense of taste, feel you have a hair on your tongue. It became unavailable Jan. 2016.It was available again in 2018 and I have been on it since May.Didn't totally lose my sense of taste this time.I've lost 72 lbs in the last few years without trying to diet, ll lbs in the last year..I. I feel I've lost so much weight due to the fact I get full so fast and also I am not hungry.I too take Levocarb and I too am almost 86, will be in Oct.

My husband has lost weight in the last few months due to loss of appetite. He makes himself eat cause he knows he needs to. He is not skinny though at least not yet. He has been on sinemet for 8 yrs. Still getting around with a cane for balance but tires very quickly.

A referred metallic taste is described. We lost smell ,taste graduallyThin may alter food intake routine so we have to be aware of no significant weight lost. Do not use salt to increase flavor a great number of species may help.
