Has anyone had Delerium from a bladder infections
What are your symptoms and experiences ?
Yes I know now also
He starts to act different and picking at the air
Now we go right to the dr or hospital
My mom, who had PD, used to suddenly become much sicker, very tired, acted just plain odd - her nursing home would test her for UTI and yep, that was it. Not like the "honeymoon cystitis" we might remember at all. It was scary, but cleared up quickly with antibiotics.
Actually, doctors and caregivers are supposed to think of UTI first as soon as there is unusual behavior (because the pwp may not realize there is anything wrong...)
When my husband gets a bladder infection he starts with picking at the oar and then seeing people and the nights are the worse
He calls it his DARK side .He has no memory of the things he does .Other than that he is with it 100 % of the time
I have PD , but my 90 something year old aunt had delusions starting with an old boyfriend that was in the FBi or CSI.Her daughter was able to determine that when these stories popped up it was because she had a painless bladder infection. I myself read in a health magazine that elderly folks do not experience the pain from such infections the way younger folks do. Hope this helps. My aunt was a bright and worldly woman who lived a full life for 97 years. She was not senile the infections were the cause of her bizarre stories.
