it's not for everyone but it can be for People who had PD for at least 5 yrs
DBS is not for everyone. We have been asked that question so often. Everyone we have met with Parkinson's has different symptoms. Each case is different - as is the treatment. But for those who meet the requirements for receiving DBS - we have heard the procedure has been most helpful. And that is wonderful.
Fear and not everyone is suitable for this.
If you don't have a tremor (30% of us don't), it likely won't help. Also, cognitively you need to be "with it." Also, you need to be in good shape for brain surgery. Definitely helps some, but it's not for everybody.
I have Type One Diabetes, and I am not currently controling it too well so that is why I am having Duodopa infusion instead
