I struggle with nausea and vomiting. I believe it has to do with how fast/slow the body is metabolizing the medication. If my system isn’t metabolizing the medicine as I take it, it builds up and I get nauseous. I could be completely wrong but I try to exercise before my meds wear off but not right after I take them. Let me know if this helps. Wishing you strength and happiness on your journey

Thanks for the concern Lyney. I am struggling the last couple of days. Along with PD my husband is going to have to go on Dialysis. It just seems to go on and on.

He went to the dermatologist and she found 4 more things she didn’t like the look. She took samples and we will see. The last time she did that it was a melanoma. They operated on that a few weeks ago.

I did call the neurologist about the vomiting, as I didn’t know who else to call. He hasn’t gotten back to me yet. I didn’t think it would do much good to call the GP. He told us he didn’t know much about PD. The neurologist is the one that wanted him to exercise....well I have gone on long enough.

Hope you are having more good days than bad. Keep the faith

Excuse me, but I happened to read this and it sounds horrific!!! Who is in charge for taking care of you?! That person should loose his/her job immediately. You have to demand proper meals and medication routines! And you must avoid protein while you take your meds but still have something else to eat while taking the meds, and certainly in between meals! You also should have proper possibilities to pursue a proper diet suitable for PD. And you need your meds at specific times of course out of many reasons, also in order to be able to fall asleep in time. Really outrageous to read how your care taking is destroyed. I wish you all the best to be able to stand up for your rights!! You have the right to get the best treatment and to live as well as possible! Don’t ever forget that! Sending you all the very best!!

Thank you for the information. It never occurred to me about how my body metabolizes my meds. I take my last med At ten o’clock at night. Carbodopa and hydrocodon I exercise either in the late morning or early evening. But i go from 6 or 7at night some nights and don’t eat again until 8 o’clock in the am or nine thirty. This a long time to go with out food between meds that is why i thought i was nauseas in the morning. My meals are all over the place no continuity. My meds are either not on time or are totally missed. The staff does not give them to me regularly. What a mess my routine my eating, exercising and meds are. I have tried to work with the staff but it doesn’t change anything. Even my doctor and my neurologist has sent letters to them. I don’t know to fix this . I have o go along with this or i cause dissent in the ranks. Ranks meaning staff.
At night i am supposed to get my carbodopa and hydrocodon at ten o;clock and did not get it until 11;10. I went looking for the staff person at 10;40 and could not find her. So i had to wait until 11;10pm. This probably doesn’t make any sense. A lot of days i am dizzy or lightheaded. I am going to talk to my doctor this week. Things have to change.
Thank you for helping me. My meds are out of control and I don’t want to get the staff mad at me if i try to talks about these things. I wish i could do my own meds. Sometimes they get them wrong or forget some. Maybe i should start doing them with them.

I deal with a lot of nausea. Sometimes when I get up in the morning. If I can catch the feeling quick enough I can just take tums. That is what happened this morning. I take my last meds at 10:00pm with hydrocodone. I think the hydrocodone may have something to do with it. I wake up most mornings at 2:00am and am hungry. Sometimes I have something to eat but most times I am to tired or hurt to much to get up.
Have had a hard time eating today. No appetite. Just have had a dish of oatmeal this morning. No lunch and probably no dinner. I take a lot of meds so skipping meals will also give me nausea. Ain’t PD fun??? If one symptom doesn’t get you two or others will.
Hope you have a good Holiday. Just finished decorating our tree then had to lay down. Flavored soda water will also help with nausea.
