You cannot choose to not have PD. What you can choose is how you deal with it. If feeling sorry for yourself made you feel happy or if being angry that you have a chronic disease helped you function, I would say ,go ahead, have a pity party. Go ahead cry, “ why me.” You can choose to wallow in misery or you can focus on what you can still do, exercise and make yourself as strong and flexible as you can. Ask for help if you need it. Most people are glad to lend an occasional hand. Keeping a positive outlook makes life so much better. Your life has changed. Make it be the best you can. It’s up to you.
I have the book, Every Victory Counts, by the Davis Phinney Foundation. It is full of info and uses a positive approach. It's free, only the cost of shipping. (:
What is Noh? A couple of people have mentioned this.
You can’t do research on PD and concentrate on the positive at the same time? What about finding new ways to do things that are difficult? How about being the best you can be instead of mourning what you have lost.
How do you do that!?
