I would read the instructions that come with your meds. I would not be shy in asking your doctor or pharmacist...it's your body and you are paying for the meds. It makes sense what you said,Happydaze.
preferably take your carbidopa-levodopa on an empty stomach because protein decreases its absorption Empty is considered 1/2 hour before or two hours after. It is sometimes difficult to schedule this talk to your MD or pharmacist for suggestions Any other med I am not sure about
Before I started taking carbidopa/levedopa which wasn't till 5 years after my diagnosis, I took lmy medicine anytime, then when i started taking it I did notice it seemed less effective after ldrinking milk or eating meat...so i know protein had some effect but i just recently upped the amount of one medicine and instead of taking my doses every three hours I am lasting 4...but when I change go through withdrawals. I know what works and what doesn't and I also know All of us parkies are affected a wee bit differently and a wee bit the same.
Can you tell I'm a retired nurse still doing the teaching
Good morning and good advice...have a happy day.
