15 years before being diagnosed with PD I started smelling burning wax when there was none. It would last for several seconds and would come and go no matter where I was in the world. The doctors did MRIs to make sure I was not having mini strokes in the area of my brain where that smell is stored but my brain was fine. Many people who have phantom smells say they smell smoke too

I smell plastic, frequently (daily), but only for a minute or two. It's very fragrant, as if opening the packaging for a beach ball.

Thanks for sharing I believe there’s more people with Parkinson’s disease but have that that don’t realize that it’s connected. I don’t think the doctors know it’s connected but I believe it is
