Wondering what vitamins and supplements are best for Parkinson Disease ?
I gave up all my supplements (Except CBD infusion) because I have swallowing problems from time to to time and pills have gotten stuck. I actually feel better. I won’t go back to them unless there clinical tests that identify a specific deficiency.
I take Centrum for men which seems to make my neurologist, cardiologist and internist happy. I also take magnesium and potassium for heart issues. Over the years I have tried many supplement, especially high B concentrations and can't tell much difference. I have been concentratin g on more exercise which even though I'm worn out physically, it makes me feel good emotionally and more relaxed.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - I hope everybody was paying attention to your post...seldom are truer words spoken, especially the last couple of sentences!
I take what the doctors tell me; a good multivitamin, magnesium for my heart, a b complex, 1baby aspirin, D3, calcium...metamucil. I have issues for other reasons but before taking extras, I talk to my doctor or a dietitian. I know if you take levodopa in some form protein can be an issue so definitely know what's recommended there. And don't fall for the "miracle" supplements advertized; if they worked so well as advertised none of us would have problems. And you may end up with more problems and less money in the bank.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member You should be aware that Parkies are susceptible to skin cancer. It is recommended to use copious amounts of sun blocker! OR covering with clothing. It is also recommended that we see a dermatologist once a year for screening!!
