No pain meds, just started levadopa, and it started before that. Just started exercising, 20 min on treadmill yesterday, 30 min 5 miles on recumbent bike today. As far as water, I'm drinking Sparkling Ice and Fruit2O, are these ok?

It was my first symptom
It was so severe that I went to my doctor. He gave me the old " eat fruits and vegetables. exercise, drink lots of water, etc. etc. I was doing all those things and had been for years. He told me to take some Metamucil. I did and it was hit or miss .what I've found helps me is magnesium supplements. I use magnesium lactate 100 mg. I tailor it to how things are going. Taking too much can give you diarrhea so much introduce it slowly until you see what works for you. I usually take one in the morning. I add a second one in the evening if I feel I need it.
Its worked for me for about 3 years now. It's an inexpensive supplement and readily available. I fully understand how debilitating and frustrating this can be. Hopefully the magnesium will help.

Stool softeners. Plain old water. The handsome man got 3 hugs. Don't worry, I am 72.

Are you on pain meds? They can cause problems. Your PD meds may also be contributing. Do you exercise and drink plenty of water? Both can help if it isn't the medication.

Being diagnosed is scary! But as you gather information and ergo perspective, the situation will improve. Stay in touch with people who seem helpful to you, and remember to be honest with yourself. That has been the key for me. Reaching out is another key that has worked for me, and especially not hiding the diagnosis from friends. Just be upfront. I sent you a hug.
