How do you respond if someone you ask for help turns you down?

I would 1. Re evaluate my need 2. Assess the wording of my request 3. Determine if I asked the right person art the right time in the right manner.
4. Move on

The best place to seek help is from within yourself. The best way to get help is to help yourself. The best chance to get help is to give it freely. Am I reasoning in circles? Perhaps, but I think there is some truth in it nonetheless.

I am a carer for my husband and hate asking anybody for help if I can do it myself! I have a few problems myself but usually manage okay! If I did need help i would ask my daughters because they constantly tell me they are there for us! I`m lucky so far but sure there will come a time when I will need help and then I will ask my daughters. We have a very good neighbour too and he always tells us to ask if we need anything!

I agree, ask someone else. But analyze Why they turned you down - was it "tough love", knowing that if you put out the effort that you could do it or learn or reteach yourself to do it without their help? Don't shun or give up on that person - they were possibly trying to help you by not molly-coddling you.

I agree with you MountainWoman it’s also possible they’ve already got some thing else to do I don’t think we should expect anyone to drop everything because of pd unless medical
emergency!!!
