The best thing I learned from the speech therapist that helped with choking is to count to 3 with every swallow. It gives your tongue time to get in the proper place. I haven’t choked on any food in 4 months, and it’s not hard to train yourself to do it with every swallow.
I do still choke at least once a day on my spit. The therapist didn’t have any suggestions except to try to force more swallows.

Oooorah!
My husband Buck has Parkinson and he has some problems swallowing but after the speech therapist he is doing better.
He has always been a fast eater!
I usually fix his plate and then mine.
By the time I fix mine his is almost gone!
With his work schedule I prepared his plate while he was showering and getting ready for his night work.
His speech therapist prepared a paper with how he should eat so he is doing better.
I have it right in front of him when he eats.
So far he does not need to put pills in pudding etc. he can swallow his pills without a problem.
praying all are having a good week!
