I have to defer taking my meds until my stomach settles, and I choose to not take any more meds ( I already take 18 pills daily) I use ginger chews, carbonated water ( burping relieves nausea) and C bands. ( accupressure wrist bands). Does anyone else have this issue, and if so do you have any other non-medicinal ideas? My husband is concerned at my weight loss and he spends a lot of time trying to figure out how to get me to eat. Sometimes the very smell of food gives me dry heaves. I've not… read more

Actually, you all have good ideas. We're trying them all. Carbonation does seem to help a lot Ginger chewies are good also. I think it just takes experimenting. My husband has lost 20 lb. The things he used to love to eat he can't stand to even smell now so I encourage him to just eat the things he really likes and to eat away at it all day long, very small bites at a time. So important that we all keep sharing these things. The doctor has prescribed zofran. When the nausea gets really bad I break one in half. He puts it under his tongue to dissolve it does seem to help pretty quickly. You can take it every 8 hours. He doesn't mind it at all

I have the same issues. Weight loss huge over last year but steadily lost weight since 2012 all together lost over half my weight. This year alone I went from size 46 pants to size 40. Insomnia yes for sure. Since about July 2020 I get 2 hours of sleep and not restful sleep a day. Sometimes go days without sleep. As for smells taste and nausea yes I know what you mean. In my case as example: I know what spaghetti smells, tastes and the texture would be. I have list most of my smell but it won't smell like it should. Taste like yuck and the texture can make me wanna vomit. So yes I do understand. Find some food you can handle and eat more of them. Softer less flavor is what I can eat best. Hope this helps.
