My husband has PD and I give him his medications. I am to give him carbidopa levodopa four times a day. I missed the third dose and wondered if it would be better to take the forth dose several hours later then the third, or skip the 4th dose?

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Jud is correct. Taking too many doses too close will have effects that are not as easily taken care of, overdose is something that can cause issues.

When my husband misses a dose, he just takes it as soon as we remember. He will sometimes skip the last one in the evening if it would mean taking them two doses very close together or a pill just before bed. (He takes his when he wakes up, then 1:15, 5:30 and 9:00.)
