I hope everyone is blessed on this Palm Sunday
My question is i have a strong craving for salt and i was wondering if that is a Parkinson problem?
Does anyone also have this problem ?

My taste buds are affected by PD and I taste mostly salt and sweet. I use sea salt on my food because it’s flavor is much more intense so I can use less. I also increased my salt intake when I was having problems with low blood pressure and lightheadedness.

Everyone presents with different symptoms in Parkinsons so try to work out your best treatment with your team of doctors.
Kindest regards
Lisa

I no longer have the ability to taste or smell so that may be why but no, I don't crave salt. Have you found anything but salt to lessen the craving?

I used to crave salt, much more than sweets, but I only use it for potatoes now. However, if you have Neuro Orthostatic hypotension you need the salt to help keep your blood pressure up. So salt helps a lot, and I do mean a LOT! You might ask your doctor to check you for nOH. If you have it salt is just what you need.
