Exercise is an amazing asset! There are various styles of bike. Also have you tried the elliptical? for me that gets the arms in cadence with the legs.

Because his back hurts a lot when he walks, my husband has cut back on his walking. He is able to use a stationary bike (recumbent) or rowing machine. We bought both so he can exercise year around. He doesn't do it often, but it is better than nothing.

My husband has one and he says it does help keep his legs from getting so stiff.
